Home buying process:

Buying a home doesn’t have to be an ordeal. Rather, it can actually be an enjoyable experience if you know what to expect.
1) Get pre approved for a mortgage.
Find out how much you can afford to spend on a home. This will save you time and energy as you will know your price range and can view properties accordingly. Please visit my mortgage calculator to get an idea of what your monthly mortgage payments will be. I can recommend several qualified mortgage officers on this area.

2) Create your “wishlist”
Decide what features are important to you and your family. How many bedrooms and bathrooms do you need? Do you want a large yard? Or do you dislike lawn care and prefer a smaller lot? Knowing what’s important to you will help you ( and your realtor) to focus on suitable properties.

3) Work with a realtor
By working with a realtor, you can omit a lot of the initial previewing of homes. Your realtor will know a lot of the homes in the area, and will know which ones are suited to you based on the home search criteria created by you. Realtors also know about properties as soon as they go on the market, sometimes even before they are officially listed with MLS. This will give you an edge over buyers who are trying to buy a home on their own.
